Rio2C 2020, initially scheduled to take place between May 5th and 10th, 2020, had to be rescheduled due to the Covid-19 pandemic declared by the World Health Organization (WHO), which resulted in a series of measures adopted by the public power aiming to contain contagion, such as social isolation, prohibition of events and agglomerations of people, and in the State of Public Calamity declaration in the State of Rio de Janeiro (Decree nº 46.984, of March 20, 2020).

The mass cancellation of events due to restrictions imposed by measures to combat CoVid-19, placed the sector at serious risk of collapse. In order to mitigate the impact on the segment, perhaps the most affected by the current crisis, and to avoid layoffs and the closing of companies, Provisional Measure nº 1.036, of March 7, 2021, was issued, which defines rules for “the cancellation of services, of reservations and events of the sectors of tourism and culture due to the state of public calamity recognized by Legislative Decree nº 6, of March 20, 2020, and the public health emergency of international importance resulting from the coronavirus (CoVid-19) ”.

As established in article 2 of the MP1.036, in the event cancellation, and the company will not be obliged to refund the amounts paid by the consumer, as long as it ensures the rescheduling of the canceled events, which according to article 2, the deadline for rescheduling is December 31, 2022.

In this difficult time for everyone, we thank you for your understanding and we are available to answer any questions you may have.
