João Amorim is a director and producer. In 2010, he released his first feature film, 2012 Time for Change, featuring David Lynch, Sting, Ellen Page, Gilberto Gil, and others. Reuters news agency called "2012" one of the 10 films behind the Occupy Wall Street movement. João was nominated for an Emmy in 2009 with Film Chicago 10.. He was the Supervising Director of the Brazilian version “Sesame Street” and the Animation “Elmo's Challenge”, both aired on TV Cultura and TV Brasil. Directed the show “Survival Guide for the 21st Century” starring Marcos Palmeira (NatGeo and Futura) Bela Raízes with Bela Gil (Canal Futura ). He is currently finishing the kids show Jake and Isa and the Secrets of Brazil
