Mario Novello is Professor Emeritus at the Brazilian Center for Physics Research (CBPF). PhD in Physics from the University of Geneva (Switzerland, 1972). In 1979 he discovered the first singularity-free cosmological model representing an eternal bouncing universe. In 2004 he received the title of Doctor Honoris Causa from the University of Lyon (France) for his studies on the origin of the universe. He is the author of more than 150 scientific articles. He is editor of Cosmos e Contexto magazine. He is the author of the books: Time Machine, What is Cosmology? From the big bang to the eternal universe, The scientists of my formation (Jabuti award, 2017), Versões do Tempo (Editora Gaia).
