Leandro Guilheiro is a Brazilian judoka, former world number one and Olympic bronze medalist in Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008. He also won silver at the 2010 World Championships, bronze in 2011, gold at the 2011 Pan Am Games, and silver in 2007. A mathematician and master’s student at IMPA, he applies his academic knowledge to decision-making in judo, using math and statistical methods to support tactical and performance decisions. He is Technical Director and Head Coach of Esporte Clube Pinheiros, leading about 50 people. His methodology led him to coach three Paris 2024 medalists: Willian Lima (silver), Larissa Pimenta (bronze), and Bia Souza (gold), proving intelligence is a competitive edge.
