Graduated in Film from the Universidade Federal Fluminense, Mauro Pinheiro Jr has stood out as a cinematographer in prestigious Brazilian films such as Cinema, Aspirins and Vultures, by Marcelo Gomes; Linha de Passe, by Walter Salles and Daniela Thomas; My Hindu Friend, by Hector Babenco; Insolation, by Felipe Hirsch and Daniela Thomas; The Famous and the Dead, by Esmir Filho; Silver Cliff, by Karim Aïnouz; Southwest, by Eduardo Nunes; and Malu, by Pedro Freire. Throughout his career, he has received more than 40 awards for cinematography, including the ABC Award – from the Brazilian Association of Cinematography – in 2001, 2006, 2011, and 2013.
