Electric and acoustic guitarist, composer and arranger
Heitor Pereira discovered composing film music in a unique way. He had been brought in as a songwriter for the film As Good As It Gets, but soon found that his melodies and arrangements were of perfect fit to film scores. He made such an impression on producer James L. Brooks that in Brooks' next film, 2001's Riding in Cars with Boys, Heitor was co-composer.
Heitor Pereira's original film scores include: The Smurfs, A Little Bit of Heaven, From Prada to Nada, Despicable Me, Nancy Meyers' It's Complicated, The Canyon, Curious George, Curious George 2: Follow That Monkey!, the Disney's hit Beverly Hills Chihuahua, the documentary Running the Sahara, the John Singleton produced Illegal Tender, Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights, and Robert Towne's Ask the Dust. He has been the recipient of seven ASCAP awards, for Beverly Hills Chihuahua, It's Complicated, and Despicable Me.
Heitor also has collaborated on a number of projects, and has composed music, written songs, or played various instruments on the scores of: I Am Sam, Madagascar, The Pledge, Shrek 2, Mission Impossible II, The Rundown, Black Hawk Down, Spy Kids, August Rush, Spanglish, Something's Gotta Give, Man on Fire, Domino, Unstoppable, The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3, and The Dark Knight.
Heitor's reputation for being able to bring his unique sensibility to film scores comes from his solid foundation of craftsmanship. Soon after completing his conservatory studies, Heitor began playing guitar with some of Brazil's leading artists, and then went on to entertaining millions as the guitarist for Simply Red. He has released three solo albums of his own music, and has either arranged music or played with such artists as: Sergio Mendes, Alejandro Sanz, Caetano Veloso, Ivan Lins, Jack Johnson, The Chieftains, Bryan Adams, Elton John, Willie Nelson, Shania Twain, Seal, Nelly Furtado and many others. She also co-founded, along with João Nogueira, Clara Nunes, Martinho da Vila, Dona Ivone Lara and many other samba artists, the Clube do Samba (Samba Club) in the 1980s. Her monumental contributions to the samba universe have led to her being paid homage in the themes of samba schools in Rio de Janeiro, São Luís, Juiz de Fora and Niterói, such as "Marrom da Cor do Samba" (Brown, like the color of Samba), the theme for Unidos da Ponte"s performance in 1994, when the school was still part of the Rio de Janeiro Top Tier Group.
In her countless moments of glory, the artist has lived memorable, triumphant moments, such as being chosen to host, for two years, the Alerta Geral (Warning Call) primetime show on the Globo network, directed by the late, dearly-missed Augusto César Vanucci, where she sang with every major name in Brazilian music, such as: Cartola, Baden Powell, Tom Jobim, Vinícius de Moraes, Nelson Cavaquinho, Dorival Caymmi, Ângela Maria, Cauby Peixoto, Marlene, Emilinha Borba and many others. Cherished and admired for her unimpeachable résumé, the Brown One is the picture of credibility. Maybe that explains why the singer has caught the eye of companies and brands who dream of having her endorse their products, events and accomplishments. Highly sought-after for marketing campaigns, being chosen as one of the stars of the "Nivea " Long Live Samba" tour was simply further evidence of the prestige and public affinity sparked by her name.
With a rock-solid career boasting countless hits, such as Não Deixe O Samba Morrer (Don"t Let Samba Die), Sufoco (In a Tight Spot), Gostoso Veneno (Sweet Poison), Menino Sem Juízo (Senseless Boy), Nem Morta (Over My Dead Body), Garoto Maroto (Sly Boy), Estranha Loucura (Strange Madness), Meu Vício é Você (My Addiction is You), Ou Ela Ou Eu (It"s Me or Her), Além da Cama (Beyond the Bed), A Loba (The She-Wolf), Mulher Ideal (Ideal Woman), Você Me Vira a Cabeça (You Make My Head Spin) and Meu Ébano (My Ebony), the interpreter has never shied away from a challenge. Also in 2015, she performed for the first time at Rock in Rio in a tribute to the Marvelous City. Though she was at the Temple of Rock, her performance won the hearts of an audience that was there to see the stars of the musical genre " and her performance was lauded by the music press, to boot. Innovation and breaking new ground, as we have outlined, are indelible trademarks in the career of this singer who"s always ready to soar even higher.
Another lovely landmark in late 2015 was her recording of "Juízo Final" (The Final Judgment), composed by Nelson Cavaquinho and Élcio Soares, being chosen for the opening credits of the "A Regra do Jogo" (Rules of the Game) telenovela. With her voice, Alcione has been featured on more than twenty telenovela soundtracks. Another great new achievement was the release of her signature line of nail polishes in partnership with Desiré Cosmetics, in a limited edition.
2017 was another glorious year for the Brown One, who performed once again in the United States (New York, Framingham, New Jersey, Fall River and Pompano Beach) and Europe (Portugal and Switzerland), sang at Rock In Rio Festival again, this time celebrating 100 years of samba, and was one of the guest artists chosen to perform at the 300-year anniversary of the manifestation of the statue of Nossa Senhora da Aparecida (Our Lady of Aparecida). In December, she kicked off her "Eu sou a Marrom (I am the Brown One) project with a concert including special guest performances by Maria Bethânia and the Mangueira Percussion Band. The project will include a CD/DVD documentary, a musical, a biography and her tour through major Brazilian capitals in 2018, the year in which the singer was the theme of Mocidade Alegre"s samba-enredo in the São Paulo Carnival: "A Voz Marrom Que Não Deixa O Samba Morrer" (The Brown Voice Which Will Not Let Samba Die), which won the samba school the second place in the competition!
Beloved by crowds in every quarter, age bracket or social and intellectual classes, Alcione has carved her name forever in countless pages of Brazilian popular music"s historic books. Her body of work, eclectic and free of any sort of musical prejudice, connects irresistibly with the people (she takes incredible pride in being a popular singer!).
Simultaneously, the public which has witnessed this sort of cult to the great Maranhão personality has also gotten to see another side of the artist: the charitable one. Her concern for social well-being have led her to get involved in charitable campaigns, events and actions. Drawing no attention to herself, with no ulterior goal of boosting her profile, her songs or her artistic career.
For all of the reasons outlined above and so many other qualities (both musical and personal), Alcione is an iconic figure who is on another level. A courageous artist, a warrior, known for her authenticity, competence and singular track record. And, to quote one of her most famous sayings (yes, she also boasts a vast repertoire in that regard): "Alcione isn"t " and never will be " just another face in the crowd."

Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, DJ Meme is known as the Top of the Tops House DJ in Brazil, in addition to being the most successful DJ/Producer and remixer in Brazil so far.
Meme started out at age eleven, putting on his own little parties, watching the professionals in night clubs until he managed to go to the other side of the DJ console. He went on to DJ at fancy discos on the city"s rich neighborhoods and, at the same time, to perform at sound team dances on the poor side of the city. In time, he ended up taking his brand of sound to local FM radios, where he created historic mix programs such as A FESTA DA CIDADE, at Cidade FM radio, RPC MEGAMIX, at RPC FM and, more recently, PARADISO OPEN HOUSE, at Paradiso FM.
All this experience eventually led to him being noticed by recording labels and artists who ended up inviting him to come to the recording studio to create the first remixes "officially" made in Brazil. After a while, Meme ended up producing some albums that have made history in Brazil. All in all, there were more than seven million records sold, among compilations and full albums produced by him. It was in 1996, however, that he went internationally big, with his remix for newcomer Shakira being so successful abroad that she became an international household name, thanks"according to Billboard Magazine"to Meme. After that, he kept on going! He ended up working with Mariah Carey, Des"ree, Gloria Estefan, Dido and Toni Braxton, among many others.
Meme is currently fully dedicated to his weekly sets in Brazil through the REMIX agency, and to the production of dance floor singles like Chanson du Soleil, with Rogerio Flausino on vocals and that has become a veritable fever on local dance floors. Abroad, his single Viva reached the #2 spot on DJ Magazine"s Hype Charts, with the full support of international DJs like Groove Junkies, Bob Sinclar, Frankie Knucles, Paul Farris, Pete Tong, and Audiowhores. All of this has put Meme"s name on the spotlight abroad, getting the attention of several magazines such as the British M8 Magazine, with a full page story with an interview"and pictures"on its 200th issue special edition, as well as a mention in Paul Farris" column as "a name to watch, for his talent as a DJ and as a re-mixer".
After so much hoopla around the world, Meme saw himself "forced" to expand his schedule internationally, to sate the House public"s curiosity by touring throughout Europe and Asia, performing regularly in Indonesia"where he is king", England"the current headquarters of House", Switzerland, France, Korea, Romania, Poland, Germany, Spain (Ibiza), Austria, the Netherlands, Hungary"
In his stellar career as a remixer, Meme has recreated songs especially ordered by the greatest House recording labels in the world, like the British Defected and Soulfuric, from the US, names that quite literally dictate what is fashionable on the House dance floors throughout the world. Recently, Meme has been invited by British band Incognito"famous for being quite demanding in choosing their remixers, like Roger Sanchez, David Morales, and Masters At Work"to join forces with Turkish-born DJ Dimitri from Paris, and together remix Incognito"s new song Step Aside.
In July 2008, Meme was invited by no other than Yoko Ono herself to remix John Lennon"s mythical song Give Peace a Chance. The result couldn"t have turned out better: #1 at the Billboard Magazine Hot Dance Parade.
